LPS 1259 Issue 1.2 Fire detection and alarm systems for buildings

This document specifies the requirements of the Loss Prevention Certification Board for Control and indicating equipment and its associated power supply. This standard is based on the British standard BS 5839 part 4 which has been superseded by the European standard BS EN54-2 and 4. However in some non European countries there is still a requirement for manufacturers to supply control panels that are independently tested and approved by third party organizations to the British standard BS 5839 Part 4.

INTRODUCTION

This standard is aimed for manufacturers who wish to gain LPCB approval for control and indicating equipment that is designed to LPS 1259 (previously identified as BS 5839 part 4). The approval of these control and indicating equipment that satisfactory meet the requirements specified in this standard is only valid when they are installed in countries who are not bound by the CEN/CENELEC internal regulations.

DEFINITIONS

The definitions specified in BS 5839 part 4 shall apply.

The requirements specified in BS 5839 : Part 4 : 1988 shall be met.
